These kinds of problems are easy to rectify. First of all, NEVER use your real phone number. In other words, don't give it to any place of business if there is the slightest chance they will give it away or sell it. Many do. Get yourself a free Google Voice phone number and have all calls from that number forward to your real number. So you can then give the Google number to everyone. When someone calls you, all calls will be subject to Settings at Google Voice. You can block numbers easily. And at the very worst case, you can simply get a new Google number. But no one ever becomes associated with your real number. Simple. Privacy for granted is a thing of the past. Be smart and practical. Don't give the keys to your front door to anyone.

This is what people are calling the Jamaican Lottery Scam. Key thing is that they need money to 'ship' your prize. It is either a prize of money or car. They wanted me to goto a Walgreens and get a 'green dot money pack paper card.' That was the only way that they would take the money. Also, they said that UPS would ship the car. UPS doesn't do cars.
